
Paola Longoria sweeps the 2016 Battle of the Alamo in convincing fashion
SAN ANTONIO, TX – Paola Longoria had an impressive performance this weekend at the 2016 Battle of the Alamo racquetball tournament, winning every single game she played in the entire tournament. Longoria, of Monterrey, NL, Mexico, who is the #1 ranked woman in the world, took home the championship in the Singles tournament, and also won the Doubles tournament alongside her partner Samantha Salas Solis of Escobedo, NL, Mexico.
Longoria defeated Maria Jose Vargas of Argentina (by way of Bolivia) in the Singles championship round, winning all three games, 11-8, 11-5, and 11-6.
After the game, Longoria spoke to the media, remarking on Vargas’s tenacity on the court; “Congratulations to Maria. Yeah, she was playing tough. She was diving a lot. I thought sometimes she wasn’t going to get the ball, but then she got it. She put pressure on me during the game.”
“I felt great on the court,” Longoria said of her own playing ability.

In the Doubles championships, Longoria / Salas Solis defeated Jessica Parrilla & Rhonda Rajsich, winning both games convincingly, 15-4 and 15-6.
